Should we grow blastocyst for all normal IVF patients?
If not, who are the good candidates for blastocyst culture and transfer ?
We do not have enough evidence to support blastocyst transfer for all to improve accumulative live birth rate after 1 IVF/ICSI treatment. Yet, there is moderate‐quality evidence that blastocyst culture for all reduces the proportion of women with surplus embryos after transfer, which might reduce the accumulative live birth rate.
Some disadvantages of blastocyst culture and transfer have been recognized: increased risk of perinatal mortality, preterm birth and delivery of a large‐for‐gestational‐age neonate, increase costs of extended culture…
